Role overview

We are a dynamic, fast growing business with employees and freelancers in over 15 countries, including the UK and US.  We are driven by innovation and focused on delivering exceptional results to our clients and users. As the leader in our industry, we prioritise our people and understand that our success is directly linked to their satisfaction, growth, and wellbeing. To further strengthen our commitment to our employees, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of People to join our team.

As the Head of People, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our culture, driving employee engagement, and overseeing the entire employee lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive people strategies, aligning them with our business objectives and ensuring our workforce is equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving industry.

This will be a varied and dynamic role and will involve the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an overarching people strategy that supports nudge’s goals and values, while fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent development, and offboarding.
  • Partner with senior leaders and managers to provide strategic guidance on people-related matters, including organisational design, succession planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention by implementing innovative programs and initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective performance management processes, ensuring clarity in goal-setting, regular feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs to attract, motivate, and retain top talent, while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work across the senior leadership team to align them and hold them to account on our values.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and foster a culture of belonging where everyone feels valued and respected.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, market trends, and legislation changes related to people management, and recommend relevant updates to policies and practices (UK and US focus).
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the HR team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
  • Monitor and analyse HR metrics and data to provide insights and recommendations for improvement, and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.

Skills and experience

We’re a close-knit family so a willing, friendly and collaborative personality is really important to us. And we’re exceptionally nimble and things move fast so we really value ‘athletic’ minds and a “let’s give it a go” attitude.

For this role the ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, people or business related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPD) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior HR role, ideally as a Head of People or similar, although we’re also keen to speak to high performing HR specialists looking to take on their first Head of People role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and industry trends.
  • Experience working in the UK and the US would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement people strategies aligned with business objectives, and drive cultural transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in overseeing end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including talent acquisition, performance management, and talent development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and HR metrics to drive insights and inform decision-making.
  • Proven record of implementing successful employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on coaching, mentoring and developing high performers.
